I have a strong family history of heart disease, cancer and diabetes. I was beginning to follow in this negative path as certain illnesses manifested in my body through obesity, thyroid disease and high blood pressure. As a registered nurse with over 20 years of professional experience, I saw the same diseases plague my patients. I spent countless hours educating and treating the sick, but I continued to neglect my own body. I knew that I needed to make a very necessary change.
This began my healthy journey 3 years ago, as I removed all meat products from my diet, transitioning to a pescatarian lifestyle. That regimen was short-lived as I continued my evolution of healthy living.
I am proud to say I finally made the leap to a 100% plant-based diet with an emphasis on alkaline plants. Why alkaline? Because alkaline foods help to promote healing from within the body. I learned that alkaline living is not just about diet, but it is a way of life. It completely transforms your mind, body and soul. I am living proof that eating plant based is the right choice.
